QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in a previous feedlot or Ag related maintenance role
- Prefer general feedyard experience to assist in all areas of feedyard
- Prefer experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, kind of a "Jack of All Trades, Master of None"
- Prefer proven experience in a supervisory position, with drive to excel
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and handle yard maintenance and general upkeep to maintain and improve the feedyard functionality
- Analyze and identify opportunities to improve feeding performance and profitability at receiving, processing, animal health, and other areas as identified
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Working Feedyard/Farm Property Manager for this Kansas Farm/Cattle Feeder. Responsibilities include:. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements for rolling stock including feed trucks, tractors, and other heavy equipment, and scheduling maintenance and repair. Coordinates utility repairs with appropriate service providers. Handle maintenance activities on water systems and tanks to provide a continuous supply of drinking water to livestock. Maintains fencing and gates by repairing damage in a timely manner. Maintains facility appearance by ensuring that grass/weeds are mowed regularly and trash is properly disposed of. Helps plans and supervises all yard construction, renovation, and replacement projects. Maintains roads, pens, and alleys by filling in holes, controlling dust, and removing accumulated manure. Maintains environmental compliance and corresponding records according to specified EPA guidelines; collects soil and water samples for testing. jManages department supplies inventory by researching costs, designing inventory systems, determining inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, and approving orders. Develops department capital and operating budgets; manages expenses by studying historical data, anticipating needs, and researching costs. Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
