JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Farmer's Right-Hand Man for this progressive South Dakota crop production operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced equipment operator looking to work with a well-established family farming operation producing corn, soybeans, and sunflowers on approximately 20,000 acres of dryland farmland in South Dakota. The successful candidate will work directly with the owners and assist in all phases of crop production, operating large modern equipment and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the farm. This operation runs a large equipment lineup including 90-foot corn planters and 60-foot air seeders, modern combines, sprayers, and Kenworth semi trucks. Responsibilities will include operating planters and air seeders during planting season, assisting with spraying and field operations during the growing season, and running combines and trucks during harvest. Additional duties will include general equipment operation, grain handling, equipment maintenance, and assisting with seasonal field operations. This employer is looking for a dependable individual who is comfortable working with large equipment and is willing to assist wherever needed. Candidates with strong crop production experience and the ability to operate planters and combines will be given preference. However, the employer is open to training a motivated individual with a solid farming background and strong work ethic. The operation offers a modern heated and air-conditioned shop large enough to service equipment indoors, providing comfortable winter working conditions. Average work hours during the growing season are typically 55 hours per week, with lighter hours during the winter months as equipment maintenance and grain handling are completed. Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, with a target range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually. The employer is open to either salary or hourly compensation, depending on the candidate's preference and experience level. This is a great opportunity to join a respected family farm and become an integral part of a large-scale crop production operation.
