QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Experience of hay production and sales of hay in the Southeastern area of the US
- Good animal health and handling skills in calving, tagging, weaning, doctoring in a well-rounded cow/calf background
- Skilled operator and maintenance of large equipment (track hoe, dozers, tractors, hay equipment bush hogs, disc, large spray rigs, etc.)
- Self-starter, with a willingness to lead, but still open to learning from, training others, and working as a team with all employees as needed, regardless of age, gender, or race
- Self-motivated and hard working with a willingness to assist in all areas of production ag operation
- Strong communication skills with fellow workers and owners needed
- An interest in agriculture and land maintenance research is highly desired

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Farm/Ranch Managers assistant for this Mississippi ranch/equestrian operation. The successful candidate will be giving the opportunity to gain experience and skills required for promotion to the farm manager role under the direction of experienced personnel. Must have a basic understanding of cattle, being capable of daily oversight and wintertime feeding to a growing herd of grass-fed cow/calf pairs. Looking for the ideal person on the hay, equipment, and maintenance side, but prefer that person who can work in all areas of the operation. Needs to be able to work well with other people and have a strong work ethic and strong communication skills. Will be working longer hours during peak of hay season. Must be dependable and reliable. Need to be able to assist in all day-to-day operations and prefer one to have an interest in sustainable and regenerative models of agriculture specific to the area, as well as research efforts and collaboration with other groups and communities.
