QUALIFICATIONS:

- Need to have 5+ years of management experience
- Solid communication skills, record keeping, and maintenance
- Ability to build and work as a team while supervising
- Experience working with corn silage, alfalfa and may be other forage crops
- Experience in pivot irrigation
- Experience with dairy manure management and application
- Mechanical skills, welding, and fabrication is a plus, and must have the capability to maintain service schedules for equipment maintenance

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is in search of a strong Farm Manager that will be overseeing the forage operations for a large dairy operation in Michigan. Crops consist of 6000+ acres of irrigated and dryland alfalfa haylage and corn silage green chopped for the dairy operation. The Farm Manager will have the responsibility of overseeing 6-10 individuals at peak times to get the crop in. All planting is custom planted, so Farm Manager is responsible for irrigation, chopping and building silage piles as well as manure management and application over fields as needed. This is not a position for someone that needs a job, this is for someone that wants to better their career in challenges, benefits, and wages. Location is great for schools and raising a family. E.O.E with salary based on years of experience farming and working within a dairy setting, diversity of skills, overall employment stability and references.
