QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Ag Economics, Accounting, Finance, with experience and/or knowledge of the workings of Production Agriculture
- Experience in agriculture or allied industries with a good understanding of production agriculture is preferred
- Ability to negotiate and effectively communicate and utilize computer technology, software and applications
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to present to small and large groups
- Strong work ethic, a self-starter, and strong attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills while one is energized by people, versatile, driven, and adaptable to the immediate circumstance
- Demonstrated expertise in understanding and communicating sound farm accounting principles and economic relationships in agriculture
- Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives, change priorities when needed, and be action-oriented
- Prioritize complex objectives, with decision criteria
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
- Professional in appearance and conduct with both employees, members, volunteers and also all related industry constituencies
- In addition to serving as an advocate for, serve as a resource for members in the region
- Ability to handle a workload that varies depending on the time of year (heavy workload required November-April)
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Accounting or related field is preferred, but also consider strong agricultural experience
- Willingness to travel as needed

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting in the search for a Farm Business Management Consultant. Duties and responsibilities in which we are assisting our employer with are:
1. - Become proficient in farm record keeping systems used within the association (QuickBooks and Manual Record Book)
2. - Learn to efficiently use proprietary programs and spreadsheets for farm economic analysis and tax planning including depreciation schedules and using Microsoft Excel
3. - Learn procedures to collect, process, and verify information from member farm businesses in order to complete a whole farm and enterprise analysis for said clients
4. - Develop an understanding of agricultural accounting, estate planning, business entity structure, and income tax management as they apply to farm businesses
5. - Develop skills necessary to complete tax forms (Forms 1096/1099, W-2/W-3, 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S) through your region for our customers / members

Interest in working with production agriculture family's records as a trusted provider of integrated data management systems to apply critical thinking and strategic business planning for farm and ranch decision makers; and will be the premier source of farm-level economic data in the world. Principle crops working with will be wheat, corn, & grain sorghum, and various livestock enterprises from cattle on feed to traditional cow / calf. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience as negotiated with employer and the applicant which is dependent on overall education and experience of said applicant.
