QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree in Agronomy preferred, but not required/Will need at least strong Agronomic experience and background
- Solid crop production background with soil knowledge and some precision ag experience
- Experience in all phases of crop production, from plant through harvest
- General understanding of Farm Service Agency and Crop Insurance programs
- Experience with irrigation and scheduling
- Prefer candidate to have chemical application knowledge
- Really prefer candidate who's been in a lead position on a farm or owners' right-hand man
- Prefer minimum 2-3 years of experience supervising people
- Cow/calf and/or feeder knowledge a plus, willingness to assist at times
- Solid communication skills and the know how to lead people
- Require a self-starter as owner won't always be around, yet be able to take direction
- Have Kansas chemical application license or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start date
- CDL preferred
- Ability to speak Spanish helpful
- Clean Background Record

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Assistant Farm Manager who will assist in all day-to-day production operations for this Kansas producer. Owner would like to find person who can operate and run this operation with and without supervision of owner. Person needs to have a good attitude and be a good communicator with the owner and other crew members. Prefer prior experience in leadership and ability to understand the owner's vision and help develop then execute the plan. Communicate with owner on daily basis. Agronomy/crop science/soil science background needed as this position will develop crop plans, do soil prep, planting, spraying and harvesting. Assist in the agronomic decisions and execution of: insecticide/herbicide plans, spraying, field monitoring, irrigation scheduling and reporting, crop rotations, hybrid and varietal decisions; seed ordering. Responsible to do/oversee equipment repair, maintaining farm infrastructure: farm grounds and pastures. Assist the Owner on: equipment purchases, grain marketing, crop insurance and other possible income areas. Winter review of expense/income ratios and crop budget planning. Work with cattle supervisor, assist with cattle operation as needed include feeding cattle. Good family location, with long-term career opportunity, with good schools and medical facilities.
