QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience operating modern farm equipment a must, silage/forage operation would be a big plus
- Solid row crop experience from planting to silage a plus, any agronomy knowledge or experience would be a bonus
- Technical knowledge of GPS, auto-steer and precision farming
- Dedicated and willing to work long hours during peak seasons as needed
- Routine maintenance and mechanic ability with an attention to detail on both equipment and around the dairy farm is a must
- Hardworking, team player, strong communicator, self-starter, high morals, good ethics, motivated, trustworthy, and honest
- Willingness to jump in and assist when and where needed is a must
- Ability to drive safely 10 wheeled Trucks for Silage, CDL not required, but, CDL with a good driving record is a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-Placement is searching for a good row crop, forage operations as Farm Assistant/Maintenance Tech for an upstate New York employer. This person needs to know planting through silage harvest, have experience with large modern farm machinery and have a technical mindset that is not afraid of change. This position is farming operations related to dairy feedstuffs and will oversee maintaining and servicing equipment to keep the dairy running efficiently. They run over 2000+ acres of land, and do much of their owe harvesting, but also custom harvest for their needs from neighboring farms for their Dairy's Forage needs. One will also need to be familiar with feeding heifers and cows, gain an understanding of the inner workings of the manure system, and also assist with maintenance and repairs round the barns as needed. This person will work in a team environment, work long hours in peak season, must be dedicated, and have common sense. This is a progressive operation looking for the right person committed to long-term employment, someone to grow into and with the business. This position offers advancement opportunities in pay and management as the person becomes familiar with the business. Salary will be determined by experience and negotiated with benefits as needed.
