- Proficient in using Dairycomp software. Experience with EzFeed is highly desirable.

- Demonstrates a commitment to achieving results and overcoming challenges.
- Ability to speak conversational English and Spanish

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a dairy operation in Nebraska who is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Dairy Manager. This role is crucial to ensuring the well-being and productivity of the dairy herd through a cow-focused management approach. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of animal health and comfort and will be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, working closely with the team to uphold the high standards and methodologies of the dairy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cow-Centric Management:
    • Engage actively with the dairy herd, demonstrating a strong desire to work directly with cows. While you will not perform all tasks yourself, you will work alongside the team to implement and maintain our dairy management system effectively.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and coach the dairy team, ensuring they adhere to our operational methods. Provide guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to dairy management protocols.
  • Facility Audits:
    • Participate in bi-weekly facility audits, including comprehensive assessments of the cows and overall operations. Utilize findings to drive improvements and maintain high standards of animal health and comfort.
  • Reproductive Knowledge:
    • Although you will not be responsible for artificial insemination (AI) tasks, a strong understanding of the reproductive system is necessary. Your expertise will support the team in maintaining effective reproductive management practices.
