- Previous experience working on a large herd dairy
- Strong herd health skills
- Experience with reproduction
- Understanding of nutrition
- Computer skills (dairy uses Dairy Comp and Excel)
- Ability to speak Dairy Spanish
- Experience with contracting Feed
- Previous experience supervising 15+ employees

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a California dairy who is searching for an experienced Dairy Manager to run the day-to-day operations and take the dairy to the next level. The Dairy Manager will need to a have a strong, successful dairy management background with both cows and employees. Will include coordinating with the Herd Manager on hiring / firing, training, and scheduling. Will also work with Vet, Nutritionist, Owner, and other department Managers. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others. Dairy Manager must have previous experience managing a dairy operation of 1,500+ milking cows. The manager must have the ability to manage manure systems, detect and solve any issues that may occur on a dairy, have previous breeding, herd health, nutrition, and employee management experience. Will also be responsible for spreadsheets, inventory, purchasing, contracting feed, and some financial responsibilities., At a minimum, the dairy manager must be able to speak Dairy Spanish.
