JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Crop Production Manager for a progressive dairy located in Connecticut. The role of the Crop Production Manager is to oversee all aspects of crops from planting to harvest with the goal of providing the highest quality corn silage and haylage for their livestock herd. Focusing on leading and motivating employees, growing crops, equipment maintenance, and tracking feed quality while promoting a safe, efficient workplace.
Responsibilities:
? Organize, lead, and manage crops team ? Coordinate and communicate with crops team and director of operations ¦ Communicate work-related information with appropriate farm personnel ¦ Be a team player with all crop operations ¦ Start each day with a plan for the team ¦ Assign and delegate daily and weekly tasks ? Training for tasks as needed ? Provide performance feedback ? Resolve conflicts with others when they arise ? Create weekly team schedule ? Review employee hours weekly ? Approve paychecks ? Approve bills on Stampli ? Oversee and coordinate ? Crops ¦ Manure handling and fertilization ¦ Planting and drillings ¦ Fertilizer ¦ Spraying ¦ Harvesting ¦ Packing the pile ¦ Trucking ? Agronomy ¦ Coordinate general crop planning ¦ Manage soil health and fertility ¦ Oversee planting & fertilization of crops ? Equipment Operation ¦ Promote and hold team accountable for equipment safety ¦ Operate equipment and semi trucks safely and properly alongside the team ?
