Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a dependable Feedlot Health Manager (Health Focused) for a progressive Nebraska cattle feeding operation. This opportunity is ideal for a person who enjoys working directly with cattle health programs and wants responsibility over day-to-day livestock health decisions within a feedyard environment. This operation has capacity for approximately 8,000 head and generally maintains 5,000-6,000 head year-round. The employer is specifically searching for someone to take ownership of the cattle health program and oversee all daily animal health responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify sick cattle and pull/treat cattle as needed
- Administer vaccines, antibiotics, and cattle health protocols
- Monitor cattle daily and make health-related treatment decisions
- Coordinate cattle processing schedules and vaccination programs
- Work directly with consulting veterinarians and existing health protocols
- Oversee receiving cattle health programs and monitor cattle performance
- Direct and coordinate crew assistance during processing and treatments
- Maintain accurate treatment and health records
- Ensure cattle are handled properly and efficiently
Operation Notes:
- Yard capacity approximately 8,000 head
- Typically running 5,000-6,000 head year-round
- Existing crew handles feeding, maintenance, and general labor support
- Candidate will have labor assistance available when processing or treating cattle
- Horse experience is a plus but not required
- Practical cattle health ability is far more important than "cowboy" skills
