JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a hands-on Calf Manager for a progressive, large-scale dairy operation in Colorado. This individual will be responsible for the total care and management of the calf department, from day-olds to four-month-olds, and will supervise the calf crew. The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, and capable of leading a team while actively participating in daily calf operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide complete management of calf operations, including feeding, health monitoring, and growth performance from birth to 4 months of age
- Oversee the pasteurized milk feeding program and ensure proper and timely delivery of milk to calves
- Administer vaccinations, freeze branding, and perform other standard calf processing duties
- Maintain accurate records of calf health, treatments, feed consumption, and growth
- Monitor and analyze data and spreadsheets to assess performance and make informed management decisions
- Order and manage inventory of medications, vaccines, and calf supplies
- Train, lead, and supervise employees to ensure proper calf care and adherence to protocols
- Foster a culture of animal welfare, cleanliness, and attention to detail in the calf barns
- Work closely with veterinarians and nutritionists to ensure best management practices are followed
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus for employee communication and training
