QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1+ year experience working with livestock (goats strongly preferred.)
• Experience milking animals.
• Weekend and holiday work is required.
• Ability to lift/move water buckets, hay bales, and other heavy objects - up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, year-round.
• Must be able to engage in physically active work every day.
• Ability to work independently and with other co-workers.
• Sound judgment and commitment to sustainable farm values.
• Bi-lingual is strongly preferred (Spanish and English)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy goat operation located in Wisconsin who is searching for an Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager position works across all general operations and serves as back-up to the General Manager in all responsibilities to provide the highest possible care for the goats and farm. The position focuses on the health and well-being of the goat herd and on maintaining field, machine, and building operations, including assistance with annual crops, tractor operation, and equipment maintenance. Specific job responsibilities may include:

Animal Healthcare

• Monitoring and logging the general health of the herd daily.
• Assist with vaccinations and other medical procedures.
• Assist with breeding, prenatal goat care, and kidding.
• Hoof trimming and logging.
• Identify sick animals and work with Herd Manager and/or vet to develop a health plan.
• Artificial insemination experience.

General Farm Support

• Skid steer and tractor operation.
• Assist with general field work.
• Restocking/moving hay bales.
• Assist with TMR Feeding
• Assist with manure and compost management
• Experience with basic building maintenance.
• Machine operations, repair, and maintenance of farm vehicles, implements, and equipment.

Other
Assist with milking operations and cleaning the parlor when needed to support other farm workers.
