QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related business discipline.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and broad business acumen.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Initiative to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working for extended periods at a computer and utilizing office equipment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Access, and other relevant platforms.
  • High degree of integrity when handling sensitive information.
  • Understanding of real estate transactions is a plus.
  • Experience in agriculture-related businesses is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Job Description

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing an established dairy operation in Indiana that is seeking an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will work closely with upper-level management across multiple agricultural-related businesses. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be involved in a wide range of projects essential to the operations of this multi dairy business. This organization has been hands-on in the dairy industry for many years. The successful candidate will contribute to the full lifecycle of dairy herd management and related crop production, providing valuable insights to support their mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing financial data to improve operational decision-making.
  • Support month-end financial reporting processes.
  • Help implement and maintain internal control measures to ensure compliance during audits.
  • Prepare data for semi-annual and year-end reviewed and audited financials.
  • Collaborate with the operations manager on ad hoc project requests to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the administration and analysis of capital expenditures.
  • Review contracts and contract terms for compliance and risk management.
  • Support multiple bookkeepers with their daily functions.
  • Conduct research on relevant topics and regulations as needed for various projects.
