Job Description:

Primary Purpose & Function

The Partner Development Manager is responsible for identifying, engaging, and expanding Growers Edge network of Ag Retail and manufacturing partners. This role focuses on driving the growth of the company’s warranty-backed Crop Plan and input financing products by developing existing accounts and securing new partnerships.

 

The Partner Development Manager owns the full partner acquisition process; from prospecting and outreach to signing annual license agreements. They are accountable for setting sales goals, building accurate forecasts, and aligning account strategies with overall Retail & Manufacturing Solutions team objectives.

 

In addition to individual partner growth efforts, the Partner Development Manager collaborates closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and Vice President of Sales to support the successful rollout and implementation of Crop Plan solutions with national Ag Retailers and manufacturers.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with Ag Retailers and Manufacturers through cold calling, emailing, networking, and outbound prospecting.
  • Build and manage a high-volume pipeline of qualified leads to consistently drive net-new revenue.
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, with a strong focus on acquiring new partners.
  • Build relationships with Ag Retail executive leadership, agronomy teams, and other key influencers; serve as the initial point of contact for partners within assigned territory.
  • Achieve key financial objectives including acres identified, loan volume, revenue, gross profit, and renewals, as well as non-financial goals such as customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Forecast financial requirements by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Partner Success Manager to ensure sales targets and partner performance goals are met.
  • Analyze market opportunities and develop strategic plans to retain existing partners, expand market presence, and improve the overall quality and profitability of the portfolio.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices by participating in training sessions, reading professional publications, and maintaining a strong network.
  • Represent Growers Edge at industry events, trade shows, and partner meetings to promote brand awareness and business development.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience; prior sales experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas, trends, technical details, and sales techniques both in person and virtually.
  • Build and maintain strong partner relationships through a combination of in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, including both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with Ag Retail partners; maintain credibility in front of executive and field-level stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and efficient in email, internet, and CRM applications.
  • Manage and maintain business and peer relationships with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and trust.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively based on evolving business needs.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

 

Travel

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time as required by role, under all weather conditions.

 

Physical Demands

  • Spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle and eye strain.
