Our Ag/Commercial lender works passionately by identifying needed financial services for customers and prospective customers of the bank. The Ag/Commercial lender will also examine, evaluate, and authorize approval of customer applications for lines of credit, commercial, agricultural, and real estate loans. They provide an excellent customer experience by providing knowledgeable and trusted advice regarding our full range of products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application.
Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to Credit Analyst for verification and recommendation.
Corresponds with or interviews applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval.
Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
Develops prospects from current agricultural and commercial customers, referral leads, and other sources.
Contacts prospective customers to present information on available services such as deposit accounts, lines-of-credit, account receivable financing, cash management, investment services or merchant account.
Determines customers" financial services needs and prepares proposals to sell services.
Reviews business trends and advises customers regarding expected fluctuations.
Aware of trends and products/services in the market place and shares potential ideas with management.

Must possess knowledge of banking and lending; sales and marketing; financial statements and accounting.
Must be organized; people oriented; assertive; outgoing and enthusiastic; knowledgeable about bank services and products and professionally represent the bank in the community.
Must have computer knowledge of Word and Excel as well as other technology programs relating to the lending area.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor"s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience in banking and/or lending or equivalent combination of education and experience. Has a proven track record of success in a sales/production role.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
