Job Purpose
Glacier FarmMedia ("GFM") is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada's Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.
This role is an individual contributor who is part of a collaborative, cross-functional team. Reporting directly to the Exhibitor Sales and Programming Lead, the primary responsibility involves guiding exhibitor sales initiatives for Ag in Motion and Canada's Outdoor Farm Show. Additionally, it entails active participation in securing exhibitors and programming commitments for other initiatives as part of Ag in Motion and Canada's Outdoor Farm Show. Collaboration is at its core, requiring seamless engagement with show sponsors, partners, the events teams, and the broader GFM team.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible to execute exhibitor sales for Ag in Motion and Canada's Outdoor Farm Show
- Responsible to meet financial targets for exhibitor sales
- Responsible to manage sales of complementary product and services through programming such as field demonstrations, customer events, enhanced listings
- Responsible to develop and manage strong and long-lasting relationships with customers by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Responsible to identify and engage new leads and prospects and handle existing customer relationships
- Responsible to manage exhibitor renewals, verifying and approving exhibitor applications through Map Your Show
- Responsible to manage customer requests, special requirements, and overall feedback while maintaining a solution selling mindset
- Collaborate with programming and events team to coordinate the field demonstration program including selection of topics, manage participants, assist in information gathering and coordinate field work
- Foster relationships with various industry organizations, remaining abreast of developments to explore new business avenues and emerging markets.
- Contribute to the formulation of forecasts for exhibitor sales revenues
- Provide support for customer events beyond scheduled show dates as necessary, while also maintaining and updating sales databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently surpass sales targets.
- Strong in lead identification and client engagement.
- Experience in large-scale event coordination is advantageous.
- Preferential consideration for candidates with prior involvement in the Agriculture industry.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel).
- Proficient in crafting business plans and delivering persuasive presentations.
- Excellent communicator facilitating collaboration among clients, teams, and stakeholders.
- Proven capability in proactive networking to cultivate enduring relationships.

Working Conditions
- Remote/Hybrid
- The nature of working in events means that the weeks leading up to show time may require some weekend work and longer hours.
- Exempt from claiming overtime; expected to manage own schedule to meet job requirements.
- Up to 10% travel required throughout Canada for events, client meetings, and conferences.
