Job Position: Cattle Procurement Administrator 

Company: GK Jim Group of Companies 

Location: Aldersyde, Alberta, (Near Okotoks Alberta)

 

The GK Jim Group of Companies is hiring a full-time permanent Cattle Procurement Administrator to join our Business  Administration Team. Reporting to the Accounting Team Lead, the Administrator's key focus will be to review, verify and process cattle purchase invoices, within the group of companies. 

GK Jim Group of Companies includes entities in the Agriculture Industry with a focus on Cattle procurement, production, and marketing. The GKJ Team is currently comprised of 25 individuals with expertise in accounting & tax, cattle buying,  transportation logistics working alongside of professionals with expertise in feedlot animal health and welfare, animal  production, agricultural economics, nutrition, applied research, statistical analysis, and economic modeling.   

 

Job Duties:

Review, verify and process vendor and customer invoices  

Database inventory tracking and day-to-day data entry 

Verification of cattle inventory procured to feedyard receiving reports 

Complete ad-hoc internal reporting (management reports, queries, etc.) for all levels of staff Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Employment Requirements:

General accounting experience is required

Agricultural experience would be considered an asset

Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel is required

Completion of a recognized accounting certificate or diploma would be an asset

Proven ability to analyze issues, exercise good judgment and proactively respond to requests

Exceptional degree of accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent time management, oral and written communication

Professional, responsive, and a positive attitude is essential

Ability to work efficiently, independently and as part of a team

 

Terms of Employment

  • Full time permanent position located at the GK Jim Group of Companies office near Aldersyde, Alberta (no public transit available) 
  • Competitive salary based on experience and education 
  • Extensive group benefit package 

 

Schedule

  • This is a 37.5hr, five days per week role 
  • Hours of work are generally 8:00 - 4:30pm Monday to Friday
