Job Description:

Responsible for executing against a sales plan and ensuring the generation of new sales exceeds target goals. Conducts Irrigation sales call, targets potential new customers, and follows up with current customer base regarding future needs. Evaluates estimates for customer needs including irrigation pipelines, filters, pumps, and emission devices. Assists with scheduling sub-contractors during the installation phase of projects. Responsible for improving and finding alternative sources and solutions in helping customers accomplish their buying needs.

 

Essential Job functions/ Duties:

  • Executes against a sales plan and ensure the generation of new sales exceeds targeted goals for the irrigation department.
  • Conducts irrigation system sales calls throughout the San Joaquin Valley, targeting potential new customers, and following up with current customer base regarding their future needs. 
  • Evaluates and creates estimates for customers’ irrigation system needs including irrigation pipelines, filters, pumps, emission devices, and other irrigation equipment. Prepares project estimates promptly and accurately.
  • Maintains extraordinary level of customer service. Maintains a contact sheet of current and potential customers. 
  • Assesses and understands field work in order to discuss customer irrigation needs. Develops effective relationships with customer base and local growers. 
  • Maintains the integrity of and professional image of the Company in dealing with other Company employees and customer representatives.
  • Assists with scheduling sub-contractors during installation phase of projects and act as liaison for communication Manages numerous, challenging tasks/projects; must be able to multitask in an organized fashion. 
  • Comply with all the Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years irrigation experience
  • Preferred Vocational / Technical Agricultural related field preferred
  • Minimum High School or GED
  • A valid unrestricted driver's license
  • Demonstrated record of safe and responsible vehicle operation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Possesses a high level of ownership and accountability in all aspects of irrigation system sales
  • Possesses strong familiarity with the San Joaquin Valley, Fresno County, and Tulare County
  • Possesses a strong understanding of irrigation pipelines, filters, pumps, emission devices, Automation and other irrigation equipment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and thrive in a sales driven environment
  • Possesses strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook – SAP a plus
