Job Description

At Olsson, we help our clients proactively comply with complicated regulatory processes and provide our clients with the latest and best methods for completing environmental surveys, collecting and analyzing data, and summarizing results. As a summer 2025 student intern with our Environmental Sciences team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You will complete a variety of scientific tasks, perform field investigations, write reports, and work with other environmental professionals. Prior knowledge of avian species (by sight or sound) and/or the ability to identify native plants is a plus. You will travel with other professionals to job sites as needed, sometimes in remote locations, for observation activities and fieldwork. You may work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and terrain types.

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental studies, or a similar field of study
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Interest in being outdoors
  • Ability to perform research and write technical reports
  • Bird and plant identification experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
