Permitting Co-Op/Intern

 

Where will you work:

 

FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL with occasional travel to other Florida sites

 

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

 

A Permitting Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic for the Permitting Department is responsible for supporting the preparation of all applicable land use permits required for the minerals and concentrates operations. January 12 to April 24, 2026

 

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week on site.

 

Hybrid and 9/80 schedule if applicable

 

What will you do?

Day to day work assignments from the supervisor and could include:

  • Project execution and management (including feasibility, scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management, etc.)
  • Review all aspects related to permitting projects, including working with the various subject matter experts, consultants, legal counsel, the preparation of permit applications, on-site inspections, and support of the Operations staff
  • Prepare permit applications, and other written deliverables
  • Collaborate with Mosaic’s Procurement team in developing scope of works, preparing requests for quotes and proposals (RFQs/RFPs), listing potential bidders, conducting pre-bid meetings, evaluating bids, writing purchase orders, etc.
  • Interact with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), and contractors.
  • Attend department meetings, meetings specific to the project assignment, and attend meetings with regulatory agencies while accompanied by your supervisor or other permitting staff.
  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

 

?What do you need for this role?

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineer or Geology/Geotechnical Engineer.
  • SAP Experience Preferred
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
