Internship Summary:
The Agronomy internship performs a wide range of activities in a real-time production environment. The Intern is assigned mentors who provide active learning experiences and achievement objectives. Work is performed outside of classroom schedules unless the internship has been approved to occur during school hours.
Objective 1: Intern will learn and support District Production Team with nutritional tissue, water and soil sampling. Intern will also have ongoing communication and collaboration with external Lab(s) to support our Nutritional monitoring. Sampling will take place in strawberry production but not limited to.
Objective 2: Following nutritional sampling, intern will support with data inputs and file organization, in collaboration with our AgroData Project.
Objective 3: Intern will support with ongoing field monitoring such as flower counts, plant growing rate and Lysimeter monitoring and testing. Intern will provide a presentation on learning experiences at the end of internship. Intern may also support additional district priorities as needed.
