Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement/Purchasing Specialist to join our team in the food processing industry. This role will focus on sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The successful candidate will also collaborate with the communications and public relations teams to ensure procurement aligns with promotional and branding strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to procure raw materials, packaging, and other goods required for food processing operations.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
• Cost Control: Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality.
• Promotional Support: Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to source promotional materials and packaging that align with brand standards and public relations campaigns.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure procurement processes comply with industry regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production teams to maintain optimal inventory levels without disruption to operations.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the food processing industry.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with marketing and public relations teams.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
