Job Description:

Position Title: Preparedness Coordinator
Reporting To: General Manager, Feather Board Command Centre
Location: Remote with occasional, in-person meetings as requested
Job Type:

  • Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Flexible hours with some evening and weekend on-call availability required

Salary: From $ 57,000
Benefits: Yes - Health Benefits Package after 3 months of employment

 

Job Summary
The Preparedness Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance of industry-wide programs and projects for infectious disease response, as well as preparedness, prevention and recovery efforts within Ontario’s poultry industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain poultry industry disease response plans, procedures, and training
  • Synthesize risk information and maintain consistent situational awareness for poultry industry disease response
  • Facilitate the operations of the industry-wide FBCC Emergency Operations Centre during periods of response
  • Support industry partners in access to and use of command center resources for response
  • Support management of the Feather Board Command Centre website and mass communication tools
  • Contribute to special projects as required

 

Required Expertise and Competencies

  • Superior ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Experience managing and developing complex documents and reports
  • Ability to use Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel at an intermediate level
  • Detailed understanding of confidentiality and an ability to communicate and manage sensitive information.
  • Experience with database management software is preferred
  • Knowledge of poultry production practices and the poultry supply chain is preferred.
  • Experience using adult learning principles to design and deliver training is an asset

Education and Qualifications

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field is an asset
  • Completion of Incident Management System (IMS) 100-300 or completion within 6 months of initiating the role is required.
