The Role: We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven professional to lead a part of our underwriting team and support sound credit decision-making across the Association. In this role, you will perform comprehensive credit analysis and underwriting along with approving or recommending credit actions within delegated authority. This role evaluates borrower financial strength, identifies risks, prepares clear credit narratives, and provides guidance and development to credit analysts on their team. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop credit analysts while managing workload and training needs.
- Conduct comprehensive credit evaluations, including analysis of character, capacity, cash flow, capital, collateral, and conditions.
- Compare borrower performance to industry standards and identify key credit risks.
- Determine appropriate loan structures, terms, and financing scope.
- Ensure financial ratios meet lending standards or are supported by compensating strengths.
- Complete probability-of-default and loss-given-default assessments to support credit decisions.
- Approve or recommend credit actions within delegated authority and prepare clear credit narratives.
- Serve on Credit Loan Committees and present recommendations to senior committees.
- Review, amend, approve, or deny credit actions beyond other analysts’ authority.

What You Need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, account, business or related field
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience of credit and business analysis experience
- Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, decision-making skills, and motivating direct reports

- Completing credit underwriting by analyzing character, capacity, cash flow, capital, collateral and conditions
- Comparing the borrowers overall financial position to industry and core lending standards
- Identifying potential risks of the proposed loan
- Determines appropriate scope of financing.
- Ensures financial ratios meet lending standards or have sufficient offsetting strengths.
- Completes risk analysis by determining probability of default ratings and loss given default assignments.
- Approves and denies credit actions within delegated authority or recommends approval/denial to Loan Committee for final consideration.
- Creates written narrative of the financial analysis and trends, strengths, weaknesses, conformity to lending standards and terms/conditions to control risks.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, agricultural economics, finance, business or related field
- 5 years of credit and business analysis experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in the agriculture industry and the impact of current events on agricultural operations and credit
- Expertise in financial ratios, criteria and production performance measures for Ag production
- Expertise in Association lending procedures and policies
- Expertise in loan covenants
- Expertise in loan structuring and negotiating loan terms and conditions
- Expertise in analyzing and interpreting tax returns, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows and similar financial documents
- Expertise in understanding relationship between financial statements and operations
- Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisors, senior management, industry leaders and customers
- Skill in applying processes and procedures to factual data to come to a logical decision
- Skill in selecting, managing, coaching, motivating and developing direct reports
- Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
- Skill in communicating objectives and delegating responsibility
- Skill in utilizing Word, Excel and Outlook to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness
