Description/Job Summary
The Crop Insurance Service Specialist processes and services Multi Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), Crop Hail (CH) and Private Product insurance policies. This position will provide accurate and efficient service to Farm Credit Illinois' agents and their members through technical policy support, exceptional internal processing and collaborative teamwork.
Responsibilities/Duties
Collects,reviews, and tracks crop insurance documents for accuracy, completeness, andcompliance, requesting additional information when necessary and ensuringtimely processing into software systems.
Resolves documentation issues, communicates agent concerns, and coordinates with Approved Insurance Providers and Regional Offices to prioritize time-sensitive policies.
Underwrites crop insurance policies, including MPCI and private products, by verifying forms, supporting documentation, and application validity using government data.
Provides subject matter expertise, training, and process improvement recommendations to regional office teams, maintaining open communication and collaboration with AIPs and staff.
Maintains internal databases and document management systems, and participates in crop-year projects such as batching documents, keying data, compliance reporting, and mapping.
Safeguardsthe confidentiality, security, and integrity of organizational and client datawhile performing special projects and other assigned duties
Required Skills
Insurance license required within 6 months of the date of hire
Working knowledge of the agriculture industry
Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a problem or issue to find resolution
Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and members
Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner
Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
Skill in utilizing time in an efficient and effective manner

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in agriculture, business or a related field No prior work experience required; Or equivalent education, experience, and skillset sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
