How you’ll make an impact
As a Database Administrator (DBA), you’ll support, maintain and modernize our enterprise database environment – ensuring the performance, availability, security and reliability of critical database systems while working closely with application teams, architects and operations. As a senior member of the team, you’ll bring deep expertise in Oracle database administration and contribute to our AWS cloud journey, supporting Oracle workloads in cloud environments. You’ll act as a technical leader, helping guide best practices, influence technical decisions, and mentor team members while remaining hands-on with complex technical challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior DBA who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving and contributing to modernization initiatives in a collaborative, Agile environment. If you have a passion for keeping mission-critical platforms available, performant and recoverable, this could be the role for you.
What you’ll do
- Manage work queue and daily work distribution within the DBA team
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior colleagues
- Partner with architects on key initiatives to modernize and maintain database performance
- Perform diagnostics, testing and troubleshooting of database and operating system issues to ensure stable and reliable database services
- Monitor database environments, act on system alerts and respond to performance, availability and stability issues in a timely manner
- Execute database migrations, patching, upgrades, backups and recovery, reorganizations, and data movement activities
- Manage and resolve business-as-usual service requests, incidents and operational tickets through established ITIL processes
- Identify, analyze and remediate database performance and availability issues
- Support database-related deployment and change activities, ensuring controlled, reliable releases into production environments
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support outside of regular working hours when DBA expertise is required

- Ability to configure SSL encryption, AWS IAM authentication and cost optimization
- Experience with Redshift and Oracle Enterprise
- Experience leading or mentoring team members, supporting effective work prioritization, sharing knowledge and collaborating within and across teams
