How you’ll make an impact

Shape how FCC communicates at the highest level. In this central, high-visibility role, you’ll partner directly with senior leaders to drive communications that advance business outcomes. Working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, you’ll lead complex, enterprise-wide initiatives—translating shifting business priorities into clear, aligned and effective communication that helps the organization move forward with confidence, even amid ambiguity.

You’ll influence how major business priorities are understood and communicated across FCC, leading high-profile initiatives with enterprise-level visibility. Your work will strengthen alignment across teams, functions and stakeholders, ensuring consistency, clarity, and shared direction, supported by sound judgment and a strong understanding of organizational dynamics.

As a trusted, politically aware strategic advisor, you’ll bring confidence and executive presence to your counsel—advising and, when needed, constructively challenging senior leaders to enable strong decision-making. You’ll bring clarity in fast-moving, high-stakes situations, remaining focused and solutions-oriented as timelines tighten or direction shifts, helping leaders communicate credibly when it matters most.

You’ll also bring to life the stories of the people we serve, highlighting their resilience, innovation and impact on Canadian agriculture and food. By connecting employees’ day-to-day work to customer success, you’ll help teams clearly see the real-world impact of their work.

What you’ll do

  • Provide senior-level strategic communications counsel to leaders and internal partners
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies aligned to business priorities
  • Translate complex business issues into clear, compelling messaging and narratives
  • Anticipate risk and advise on sensitive or high-impact communication challenges
  • Lead end-to-end communication initiatives, from planning and execution to measurement
  • Establish and evolve communication processes, standards and best practices
  • Use data, insights and research to continuously improve communication effectiveness
  • Leverage AI and emerging tools responsibly to enhance research, insights, content development and overall communication effectiveness
  • Partner across functions (e.g., Brand, Change, Marketing) to ensure aligned and coordinated communication
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across the organization

What you’ll bring to the team

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in strategic communications or consulting
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, including executive-level content
  • Strong strategic thinking and systems thinking capabilities
  • Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder communication initiatives
  • Strong project and workflow management skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in agriculture, finance or regulated industry
  • Familiarity with digital platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft 365)
