USDA appointed five Utah agricultural leaders to the FSA state committee to oversee programs supporting farmers and improve agricultural operations through leadership policy guidance and community engagement efforts.

The United States Department of Agriculture has announced the appointment of five experienced agricultural leaders to serve on the Utah Farm Service Agency state committee. These individuals are selected to support farmers and ensure effective delivery of agricultural programs across the state.

Members of the state committee are appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture and play an important role in overseeing farm programs and county operations. They also help resolve program-related appeals, maintain strong relationships with agricultural stakeholders, and keep producers informed about available services.

The Utah committee includes Jana McMurdie as chair, along with members Allen Dyreng, Jake Harward, Willis LeFevre, and Richard Wilde. Each member brings strong experience in farming, ranching, and community leadership. Their backgrounds include livestock production, dairy farming, crop management, and agribusiness operations.

These individuals also contribute valuable leadership experience through roles in irrigation management, local government, agricultural boards, and conservation efforts. Their combined knowledge helps strengthen decision-making and supports farmers in managing challenges such as resource use, production, and market access.

“These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state,” said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. “Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump’s America First, Farmers First policies.”

The Farm Service Agency works to support farmers, ranchers, and landowners by providing access to credit, conservation programs, disaster assistance, and marketing support. Through local offices and committees, it helps improve farm productivity and strengthen rural communities.

Overall, these appointments reflect a continued effort to support agriculture through strong leadership, practical experience, and a focus on helping farmers succeed in a changing environment.
