Tucker Leck, a member of the Neodesha FFA Chapter, has been named the 2025 Kansas FFA State Star in Ag Placement, one of the top honors awarded by the Kansas FFA Association. The announcement was made during the 97th Kansas FFA Convention held May 28–30, 2025, on the Kansas State University campus.
The State Star in Ag Placement is part of an annual program that recognizes Kansas FFA members who have developed outstanding Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. Along with the Star in Ag Placement, awards are also presented in the categories of Star Farmer and Star in Agribusiness.These recognitions are sponsored by Farm Credit Associations of Kansas, United Bank and Trust, and Kansas Farm Bureau.
Leck’s SAE is based at Leck Family Enterprises, where he plays an active role in multiple areas of agriculture. The operation includes a 20-sow swine herd focused on both crossbred and purebred genetics, a French Bulldog program consisting of 16 females and 2 males, and a poultry operation of 39 laying hens.His responsibilities include swine production, neonatal care, breeding, feed management, nutrition, and biosecurity.
With more than 2,500 hours invested since his freshman year, Leck has gained extensive hands-on experience that highlights the value of experiential learning in agriculture.
Other finalists for the 2025 award included FFA members representing six districts across Kansas: EC – Mason Mitzner; NC – Landon Albrecht; NE – Madeline Bontrager; NW – Adleigh Zieger; SC – Jackson McCurry; and SW – Grady Gleason.
