The AgCareers Total Rewards Report analyzes data from the recent benefits survey of agriculture and food employers, reviewing current challenges and benefit program changes planned for 2025.

Agriculture and food companies use benefits as a strategy to compete for talent, among other approaches, such as a positive work culture, safe and healthy work environment, training and development, and higher compensation. Undeniably, benefits are influential and valuable tools for employers in the workplace for both attraction and retention. In addition to being influential, 63% of candidates and employees considered benefits important or very important to their job satisfaction.

 

The 2024-2025 AgCareers Total Rewards Report is the third edition in our benefits topic series, with prior surveys in 2020 and 2022. This survey report analyzes data from the recent benefits survey of agriculture and food employers, reviewing current challenges and benefit program changes planned for 2025.

 

Employers reported that the rising cost of maintaining benefit programs was their most pressing challenge.

More than half of companies provided a tuition reimbursement program.  

The most frequently offered wellness program benefit was a standing desk.

Employers are increasing their usage of employee referral programs.
