The South Dakota Farm Bureau awarded $8,000 in scholarships to high school seniors pursuing agriculture-related degrees. Recipients are Farm Bureau members or children of members with strong agricultural interest.

South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) has announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarship program, awarding a total of $8,000 to four outstanding high school seniors pursuing careers in agriculture. The scholarships are offered to students who, along with their parents or guardians, have been members of SDFB for at least two years.

The scholarships fall into two categories: agriculture-focused and community-focused, depending on each student’s major and experience in the agriculture sector. For 2025, all four recipients earned agriculture-focused scholarships, supporting their commitment to furthering their education and careers in the agricultural field.

The South Dakota Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund was founded in 2005 by Richard and Agnes Ekstrum of Kimball, South Dakota. Richard Ekstrum served as the organization’s president from 1975 to 1995, and the fund continues to support the future of agriculture in South Dakota through educational investment.
