Swine Innovation Porc (SIP) appoints Alison Lee as Manager of Research Development to strengthen partnerships in the Canadian pork sector and enhance research collaboration.

Swine Innovation Porc (SIP) is excited to announce the appointment of Alison Lee as Manager of Research Development, effective June 12, 2025. In her new role, Lee will play a vital part in connecting SIP with the Canadian pork research community, working closely with partners in the industry, government, and academia.

“I am excited to join SIP and look forward to working collaboratively with all our partners to build on the Canadian pork sector’s strengths through research,” said Lee. “One of the main attractions of this role is the ability to work with SIP’s amazing partners in the industry, academia, and government, including through Swine Cluster 4.”

Before joining SIP, Alison Lee was the Researcher and Livestock Program Developer at Conestoga Meats, where she managed research projects related to meat quality, animal welfare, and new technology development.

Lee has extensive experience in the pork industry, having worked internationally. Notably, she was a Research Manager in Swine Nutrition and Health at Evonik Operations GmbH in Hanau, Germany. She holds a PhD and B.Sc. from the University of Guelph, where her thesis focused on supplementation in sow diets and its effects on piglet health.

“I am pleased to welcome Alison to the team,” said SIP General Manager Daniel Ramage. “In her role and based on her experience, we are confident she will provide leadership in building national research partnerships with the Canadian pork research community.”

Lee’s appointment comes at an exciting time as SIP continues to enhance its research efforts and strengthen collaborations across the pork industry.
