Rudi Roeslein, founder and board chairman of Roeslein Renewables, received the Excellence in Bioenergy Award at the 2026 International Biomass Conference & Expo. The event took place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee on April 1. Along with receiving the award, he also served as a keynote speaker at the conference.
The award is presented by BBI International and Biomass Magazine. It honored Roeslein’s many years of work in renewable energy, conservation, and industrial development. He is recognized alongside Alicia Gibson and Cold Steppe Inc. for their important contributions to the bioenergy sector.
Roeslein shared his thoughts on recognition and future goals. “I’m honored to accept the Excellence in Bioenergy Award, but there is a lot of work still ahead,” Mr. Roesleien said “My vision has always been at the intersection of a simple Venn diagram where wildlife, ecosystems, and energy come together. When those systems are aligned, we can restore soil health, improve water quality, strengthen rural economies, and produce renewable energy at scale. We’ve shown it works. Now it’s about continuing to build, partner, and stay focused on delivering strong outcomes.”
He started his journey by founding Roeslein & Associates in 1990. The company grew into a global leader in engineering and construction services. Later, he established Roeslein Renewables to focus on clean energy solutions. His company works on renewable natural gas and anaerobic digestion, turning agricultural and industrial waste into energy and useful products.
Roeslein’s work also supports land conservation and prairie restoration. His efforts show that environmental care and economic growth can work together successfully.
As a keynote speaker, Roeslein shares ideas on expanding renewable energy, improving conservation, and building a sustainable future.
