Wisconsin DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski is now President of the Midwestern Association of State Departments of Agriculture, leading farm policy talks and planning a major 2026 regional meeting.

Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Randy Romanski becomes President of the Midwestern Association of State Departments of Agriculture (MASDA). He accepts the role during the 2025 National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Annual Meeting held in Arkansas.

“I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve a term as MASDA President,” said Romanski. “I look forward to representing Wisconsin in important policy discussions and collaborating with my colleagues from across the Midwest.”

MASDA includes agriculture leaders from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Members meet throughout the year, both online and in person, to discuss farm policy that affects the region.

During his presidency, Romanski will host the MASDA Regional Meeting on June 22–24, 2026, in Wisconsin. The event will feature a business meeting, expert panels, and industry tours to highlight regional agriculture.

Romanski also serves as Vice President of the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA, a nonprofit group that helps connect Midwestern food suppliers with global importers. This group also met during the NASDA Annual Meeting.

“Wisconsin is committed to growing its agricultural exports, and the state’s farms and agribusinesses have much to offer international buyers,” Romanski added. “DATCP is pleased to partner with Food Export-Midwest to strengthen existing trading relationships and enter new global markets.”

The NASDA Annual Meeting theme, “Securing Our Future Through Agriculture,” includes policy talks on animal agriculture, marketing and international trade, and food systems and nutrition. NASDA is a nonpartisan association representing all 50 states and four territories.
