The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is now accepting applications for its Feeding Tomorrow Fund scholarships. This year, more than $200,000 is available across over 90 scholarships aimed at supporting the next generation of food science leaders.
These scholarships are designed to assist both undergraduate and graduate students in various specializations within the food science field.
The Feeding Tomorrow Fund has contributed over $3 million to the education of more than 2,800 students.
The scholarships cover a broad range of needs, from financial assistance to specific awards for community college transfers, first-generation college students, and those studying areas like food engineering and pediatric nutrition.
The Feeding Tomorrow Fund offers travel scholarships for students attending the IFT FIRST: Annual Event and Expo.
This year's expo will take place from July 13-16, 2025, at McCormick Place in Chicago, providing a vital opportunity for networking and professional development.
The Elwood F. Caldwell Graduate Fellowship provides a $25,000 stipend to a student engaged in research that significantly impacts the global food system. This fellowship is a tribute to Elwood Caldwell, PhD, a pioneer in cereal science and former director of research at Quaker Oats.
Furthermore, IFT encourages student involvement through its Institute of Food Technologists Student Association (IFTSA), which hosts highly regarded competitions recognized globally.
Participation in these competitions is crucial for students aiming to make significant contributions to the field of food science.
Applications for all scholarships must be submitted by February 28, 2025.
