Media ArticleThe Grain Growers of Canada (GGC) has proudly announced its latest executive lineup, featuring Tara Sawyer as its new Chair.
This appointment is noteworthy as Sawyer is the first woman to ever hold this position in the organization’s history. Hailing from Acme, Alberta, and actively involved as the Chair of Alberta Grains, she brings extensive experience and a strong advocacy background to her new role at GGC.
Accompanying Sawyer in the leadership team are Scott Hepworth and Sally Parsonage. Hepworth, from Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, takes on the role of First Vice Chair.
He is recognized for his active role as a Director of the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission. Parsonage, coming from Baldur, Manitoba, and serving as the Secretary of the Manitoba Crop Alliance, has been named Second Vice Chair.
The election of these individuals comes at a crucial time as the GGC continues to navigate the various challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for grain producers across Canada.
Their collective experience is expected to drive the organization forward, fostering innovation and growth in the sector.
GGC also extends its heartfelt thanks to the outgoing executive members, Andre Harpe, William van Tassel, and Brendan Phillips, for their years of dedicated service.
