Mary Kay Thatcher, a nationally recognized agriculture policy expert, joins Stratovation Group’s Board of Advisors. She provides strategic counsel using her extensive knowledge of public policy and grassroots advocacy while continuing her independent consulting work.
Thatcher is known for her leadership in agriculture policy and stakeholder engagement. She most recently serves as senior manager of federal government and industry relations at Syngenta. Before that, she worked for 31 years at the American Farm Bureau Federation, shaping farmer-driven policy and advancing agricultural interests across the country.
Earlier in her career, Thatcher was a legislative assistant for agriculture and trade to Senator Roger Jepsen of Iowa and served in the George H.W. Bush administration as director of Congressional and Public Affairs for the Farm Credit Administration.
“Stratovation Group is making a splash across a wide section of the age and food value chain,” she said. “From row crops and specialty crops to animal agriculture and innovation, I’ve been impressed with what I have heard about them serving the needs of established companies and start-up innovators alike. The work they do specifically for farmer-cooperatives, member organizations and trade groups is fully aligned with my professional passion.”
Cam Camfield, Founder and CEO of Stratovation Group, welcomed Thatcher, saying, “We are grateful to formally collaborate with Mary Kay. She brings immense value and expertise across ag policy and corporate strategy that will greatly benefit our team as well as our expanding client base.”
Thatcher joins a strong group of advisors with diverse backgrounds in agriculture, agribusiness, talent strategy, sustainability, and leadership. Fellow advisors include Jay Vroom, Russ Green, Blake Hurst, Jen Wells, and Ward Hill, each adding specialized experience in crop protection, agribusiness operations, production farming, workforce development, and communications.
Her appointment strengthens Stratovation Group’s mission to support farmer cooperatives, trade groups, and innovative ag businesses, ensuring that practical farming knowledge and sound policy advice guide future growth and success.
