Here are some creative ways you can continue to care for your staff (and well, get them to stay!)

We have heard it time and time again, “retention is the newfound recruiting!” And well, it is, and it should be! The recruiting process should not stop the moment you get the new hire through the door; we should continue to pour our time and resources into the staff we already have!

Here are some creative ways you can continue to care for your staff (and well, get them to stay!)

  • Gym / Health Membership

Invest in your team’s health by allowing them a wellness stipend of some sort. Keep in mind that not everyone’s comfort level is going to a big gym, so consider allowing your employees to use their home stipend on an home work out program, too!

  • Student Loan Repayment

For your younger employees, student loan debt can be a major source of stress. By helping them tackle their loans, you’re investing in their future- and they’ll be more likely to stay with a company that invests in them.

  •  Volunteering Days

Not only does volunteering give back to a community, but also your employees! This allows your employees to fill their bucket by spending some time doing a community service project they are passionate about. Employees who feel a sense of purpose are happier and more productive, making this a win-win!

  • Childcare Assistance

On-site childcare can make a world of a difference for a family who feels like they are running in a million different directions. If you are a virtual company, allow some flexibility for school drop off and pick up; this will provide much relief to those busy parents. Alternatively, to alleviate some financial stress of high daycare costs, dependent care reimbursement and flexible spending accounts can be a critical retention benefit.

  • Work Allowances

Reimbursing employees for some of those essential monthly bills makes a big difference! Wifi reimbursement? Vehicle allowances? Cell phone reimbursement? I am sure none of your employees would be mad about that! These simple perks demonstrate your dedication to your employees.

  • Free Meals

A catered lunch once a month might not cost the company a fortune, but it will make your employees more excited to come to work that day. This is a small investment that can have a significant impact. Plus, who doesn’t love team bonding over lunch!?

  • Birthday Celebration

How does taking your birthday off every year sound? It sounds pretty good to me. What better gift than the gift of time! Allowing them to take a day off to celebrate themselves adds a personal touch that shows the company cares about work-life balance.

By offering a mix of these creative benefits and perks, you're not just improving your employees' work experience—you’re building a workplace where they want to stay
