Many companies like to celebrate big wins. team celebrations in or outside of the office are normal. When you are a part of that team, it feels great, and that wall you may have built comes down for a bit.

 

When you are not included in those moments, it hurts.

 

As employers, try to include the whole team when celebrating. This not only makes everyone feel that they have contributed to the success but may engage your employees more and make your workplace a place they want to be a part of. The worker shortage is a problem many companies are experiencing. You may want to look at what sets your workplace culture apart and why an employee would want to work for you and stay working for you.

 

An important first step to understanding your company’s culture is to hear from your employees. This can be done internally or by using an outside organization. What is most important is that you are giving employees a safe space to describe how they feel about your organization’s culture. Sometimes ignorance is bliss when it comes to company culture. You may believe that everything is great within the office and find out that you are wrong. Instead of training new employees’ time over time, it could be time to dive into why your company is experiencing high turnover. Knowing if your employees are feeling psychologically safe at work makes an impact on your bottom line.
