On July 30, Bonipak Produce and Betteravia Farms announced the appointment of Kristen Camarena as their new executive vice president of farming operations. In this leadership role, Camarena will oversee all farming activities through harvest in both Yuma and Santa Maria, California.
Camarena brings over 20 years of experience in the agriculture industry and is known for her dedication to operational excellence and leadership. A Central Valley native with agricultural roots, she began her career in grower relations. This early experience helped her build long-term partnerships and advocate for growers' success.
Later, she worked as a licensed pest control adviser for one of the country’s largest farming operations, gaining valuable knowledge in pest management and farm operations. Her deep understanding of field operations and strategic management helped her rise into leadership roles. She has served on the board of the North Kern Water Storage District and the Cal Poly Plant Science Advisory Council.
“I’m honored to join Bonipak and Betteravia Farms at such a pivotal time in the company’s 90+ year history,” Camarena says. “With a transition in leadership on the horizon and a dedicated senior management team focused on defining a strategic vision for the future, I’m excited to contribute to a culture that values innovation, integrity and long-term sustainability. Together, we have a tremendous opportunity to build upon a proud legacy and create a strong foundation for generations to come.”
Craig Reade, managing partner, shared, “We are thrilled to welcome Kristen to the team. Her depth of experience, thoughtful approach to leadership and passion for agriculture make her a strong asset to the Bonipak and Betteravia family.”
Camarena’s appointment is expected to play a key role in supporting Bonipak’s long-term vision of sustainable, innovative farming leadership.
