The American Society of Agricultural Consultants recognized John Jackson with its Certificate of Lifetime Membership, one of the organization’s highest honors. The announcement took place during the 62nd Annual Meeting and Conference held in Indianapolis in November 2025. The recognition highlights Jackson’s more than forty years of dedicated service to ASAC and the agricultural consulting profession.
This honor follows Jackson’s earlier recognition with the ASAC Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at the society’s 60th Annual Meeting and Conference in Fresno, California, in 2023. Together, these awards reflect a career marked by long-term commitment, strong ethics, and professional leadership.
John Jackson is a Certified Agricultural Consultant whose work spans many regions of the world. His consulting experience includes projects in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, Central America, and across the United States. Through this work, he supports farmers, advisors, and agricultural organizations by improving practices and strengthening local systems.
Leaders within ASAC praised Jackson’s influence on the profession. “John’s career represents the pinnacle of global agricultural consulting, combining deep technical expertise with a level of professionalism that has mentored generations of consultants,” said Pete Weisenberger, ASAC Past President. Bill Zweigbaum, ASAC Board Member and Past President, added, “His selfless dedication to the industry, from international development to local American agriculture, exemplifies the very best of what a Certified Agricultural Consultant should be.”
Jackson’s career closely connects with his wife, Sharon, who also plays an active role in agricultural consulting and management. Both grew up in Western Illinois and graduated from Western Illinois University. After graduation, they served together in the Peace Corps, beginning a lifelong commitment to service through agriculture.
In recent years, the Jacksons help develop agricultural programs on Indian reservations in Colorado and the Southwest United States. John focuses on consulting work, while Sharon provides management support to several companies in their hometown of Great Bend, Kansas.
“I am deeply honored by this recognition from ASAC and am grateful for the opportunity to have spent my career serving the agricultural community alongside such esteemed colleagues,” said Jackson.
ASAC leaders personally present the award to Jackson during a special dinner in Hays, Kansas, recognizing the importance of the honor. John and Sharon Jackson continue to live in Great Bend and remain active supporters of agriculture and their community.
