Jake Espenmiller takes the helm as President and CEO of Conterra Ag Capital, promising innovative financial strategies for the agricultural sector.

Conterra Ag Capital has officially announced Jake Espenmiller as its new President and Chief Executive Officer starting January 2025. This appointment follows a two-year planned succession, marking a new era of leadership under Espenmiller’s direction.

Espenmiller brings a wealth of experience, with over 25 years in agricultural finance, risk management, and lending strategy.

His background includes a significant tenure at Oak River Farms and MetLife Investment Management, where he was instrumental in expanding agricultural operations.

Since joining Conterra in 2022 as Chief Lending Officer, Espenmiller has been pivotal in spearheading strategic growth and business development initiatives.

He succeeds Paul Erickson, the founder of Conterra Ag Capital, who has been at the forefront of the company for over a decade.

Erickson’s leadership and vision have propelled the company to manage assets worth over a billion dollars, establishing Conterra as a nationally recognized provider of agricultural financing solutions.

As the agricultural industry faces challenges like rising interest rates, market fluctuations, and increasing operational costs, Espenmiller’s role will be crucial in steering Conterra towards providing robust financial solutions.

These include traditional farm and ranch loans, development financing, and alternative lending options designed to help farmers and agribusinesses manage risk and invest in long-term growth.

The transition in leadership comes at a critical juncture for Conterra, emphasizing its commitment to the agricultural community and its readiness to adapt to evolving market demands.
