Eric Heismeyer has been named CEO of Landus Cooperative, effective September 3, 2025. He will focus on accelerating the cooperative’s 2026 operating plan and delivering value to Iowa farmers and communities.

Landus, Iowa’s largest farmer-owned cooperative, has announced the appointment of Eric Heismeyer as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 3, 2025. The decision reflects the board’s commitment to finding a proven leader with a strong understanding of agriculture, cooperatives, and rural communities.

Heismeyer brings extensive experience from major agribusinesses, including Bunge and ADM (Archer Daniels Midland). His leadership background covers global supply chains, operations, and commercial strategy. He is recognized for building strong teams, driving innovation, and delivering disciplined growth in competitive markets.

“I’m honored to step into this role and eager to lead the team at Landus,” said Heismeyer. “The board and leadership team have developed a focused, actionable plan to launch into our 2026 fiscal year and I’m excited to stand shoulder to shoulder with them to drive results that matter for our farmer-owners and communities.”

Heismeyer’s appointment comes as Landus prepares to launch its 2026 Operating Plan, which is centered around five initiatives:

  • Serving farmer-owners to maximize productivity

  • Enabling employees to perform at their best

  • Executing with operational rigor

  • Operating with financial discipline

  • Driving sustainable, long-term growth

Board Chair Tim Kolder noted, “Eric is not joining Landus to reset the course, but to accelerate the progress already underway. His experience leading complex agricultural businesses and building cultures of accountability makes him the right leader at the right time for Landus. We’re excited for what’s ahead.”

In his new role, Heismeyer will focus on aligning the organization with the operating plan, working closely with the leadership team and board. He aims to position Landus as a trusted partner for farmer-owners and a driver of prosperity across rural communities.

“Landus is poised to deliver for our farmers—through disciplined execution, consistent service, and a sharp focus on what matters to our farmers,” Heismeyer said. “Together, we’ll grow a stronger, smarter, more connected cooperative, driving unparalleled value and opportunities for those we serve.”

The Landus Board of Directors engaged Medallion Partners, a national executive search firm, to assist with the CEO selection process.
