Elizabeth Burns-Thompson, a seasoned ag law expert, leads Modern Ag Alliance, focusing on advocating for science-based farm policies.

The Modern Ag Alliance, a coalition advocating for U.S. farmers' access to essential crop protection tools, has announced Elizabeth Burns-Thompson as its inaugural executive director.

This strategic appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the alliance's advocacy efforts in agricultural policy and law.

Burns-Thompson brings a robust background in agricultural law and business, having earned her Juris Doctorate from Drake University and a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University.

Her career is marked by prominent roles in government relations, policy, and public affairs, specifically within the agricultural sector.

Her most recent position at Landus Ag Cooperative and prior engagements with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and the Iowa Corn Growers Association underscore her deep commitment to advancing farmers' interests.

Her appointment comes at a critical time, as agricultural stakeholders face uncertainties regarding crop protection policies under the incoming administration.

Concerns have been raised about potential shifts in policy that could affect the availability and use of pesticides, crucial for modern farming practices.

Burns-Thompson's leadership is expected to be instrumental in navigating these challenges, advocating for policies that ensure farmers' continued access to vital agricultural tools.

Includes a broad network of partners such as state and regional agricultural associations and the National Corn Growers Association.

These partnerships are key to the alliance's mission to support sustainable and productive farming practices that bolster the food supply and agricultural economy.
