Animal Health Canada (AHC) announces the appointment of Dr Cassidy Klima, Ph.D., as its new Executive Director. Dr Klima brings more than 15 years of leadership in livestock health, food safety, and One Health innovation to this national role.
Dr Klima has built a career at the intersection of research, industry, and policy. She most recently serves as Assistant Professor at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension and previously worked as Technical Director of the Beef Cattle Research Council under the Canadian Cattle Association.
In these roles, she has collaborated with governments, producers, and regulatory agencies to address emerging threats, strengthen biosecurity, and support science-based trade policy.
She holds a Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology from the University of Saskatchewan, an M.Sc. in Microbiology, and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences, both from the University of Lethbridge.
