Deerfield Ag Services is now accepting applications for its 2025 Fair Funding Starter Scholarship, a program designed to support young agricultural enthusiasts.
This initiative has already aided over 100 junior fair participants, helping them manage some of the initial costs associated with their livestock projects.
The scholarship aims to make participation in fair events more accessible for youth in Portage, Stark, Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull Counties.
It targets students involved in 4-H and FFA, offering financial assistance to encourage their continued engagement in agricultural activities.
Scholarship amounts are tailored to the type of livestock, providing up to $50 for rabbit and poultry projects, $100 for goat and lamb, $200 for horse, $300 for swine, and $400 for beef projects.
While the funds may not cover all expenses, they significantly reduce the financial barrier for starting such projects.
Deerfield Ag Services is committed to fostering the next generation of farmers by making it feasible for more young people to showcase their livestock at local fairs. Application form fill scholarship by March 31.
