NAFB appointed Cindy Cunningham as Industry Engagement Director, bringing decades of agriculture marketing and communications experience to strengthen industry partnerships, manage key events, and support growth for farm broadcasters nationwide.

The National Association of Farm Broadcasting announced the appointment of agriculture industry veteran Cindy Cunningham as its Industry Engagement Director. She joined the organization on Monday, Jan. 19, taking on a key leadership role focused on building stronger connections across the agriculture industry.

In this strategic position, Cunningham focused on strengthening relationships with external agriculture industry partners. She led collaborations designed to support growth for the association’s more than 700 members. Her responsibilities also included managing NAFB’s signature events, such as Washington Watch and the annual convention held each November.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cindy to the NAFB team,” said Gardner Hatch, NAFB executive director. “NAFB has a long history of serving as a vital link between farm broadcasters and the agricultural landscape. Cindy’s proven expertise and deep industry connections will be instrumental in supporting NAFB’s strategic priorities for growth, industry collaborations and delivering exceptional value for our members.”

Cunningham brought more than 30 years of experience in agriculture marketing, industry relations, public relations, and event management. Most recently, she served as a managing supervisor at Woodruff. In that role, she led award-winning marketing campaigns and helped expand the agency’s reach by bringing in new business opportunities.

She was also widely recognized in the pork industry. Cunningham spent 19 years as assistant vice president of communications at the National Pork Board. She also worked nine years in a similar communications role at the National Pork Producers Council, gaining strong experience in producer-focused outreach and national programs.

Earlier in her career, Cunningham worked in agricultural media as a radio farm director at KICD AM/FM Radio in Spencer, Iowa. This role gave her firsthand experience in farm broadcasting and strengthened her connection to rural audiences.

“As a 35-year member of NAFB, I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to an organization I care deeply about,” Cunningham said. “NAFB members work tirelessly to deliver accurate and timely information to America’s farmers and ranchers, and I’m excited to be part of the support team that helps make that possible.”

Through her appointment, NAFB continued its commitment to strong leadership, industry collaboration, and delivering lasting value to farm broadcasters and agriculture partners across the country.
