Iowa Select Farms has appointed Chris Blevins as its new Director of Breed-to-Wean, a key role in one of the most critical parts of pork production.
With years of experience in sow systems and reproduction, Blevins is expected to contribute strong leadership and industry knowledge to help strengthen the company’s operations.
Chris served as Director of Reproduction at Passel Farms. He managed a large 65,000-sow system, which included tasks such as overseeing boar studs, gilt development, warehousing, and purchasing.
His background also includes serving as Senior Production Manager at Professional Swine Management, where he handled gilt sales and managed half of the sow system.
Blevins worked hands-on with sow and finishing production at Country View Farms and White River Coop/Land O’Lakes. These roles helped him build a solid foundation in the swine industry and prepared him for leadership roles in larger systems.
Blevins will work alongside Matt Grimm and Dan Dean, completing Iowa Select’s newly structured breed-to-wean leadership team. Each director will be responsible for managing about 85,000 sows and related gilt development units.
This restructured approach is part of the company’s strategy to improve consistency, focus, and performance in early pig production.
The Blevins highlights Iowa Select Farms’ ongoing commitment to people development and leadership in pork production.
