CCFI updates its board by re-electing members, welcoming a new director, and thanking outgoing leaders while continuing its mission to build public trust in Canada’s food system.

The Canadian Centre for Food Integrity has shared updates to its Board of Directors following its 2026 Annual General Assembly. These changes will reflect the organization's focus on strong leadership and its goal of building public trust in Canada’s food system.

Michi Furuya Chang has joined the board as a newly elected Director. She brings more than 20 years of experience across public health, private industry, and not for profit organizations. In her current role as Executive Vice President of Public Policy, Regulatory Affairs and Division Strategy at Food, Health, and Consumer Products of Canada, she works closely with industry members to support science based and practical policy decisions.

Her past experience includes working with major companies such as Sobeys Incorporated and Kraft Foods. She also serves on the government’s Agile Regulations Roundtable and is Vice Chair of the Canadian Supply Chain Food Safety Coalition. Her wide range of experience will help guide the organization as it continues its work.

The organization has also re-elected Adele Buettner and Darlene McBain for another three-year term. Their continued leadership will support ongoing efforts to strengthen public confidence in the food system.

At the same time, CCFI thanked two outgoing board members, Michael Graydon and Jean Marc Ruest, for their valuable service. Both leaders have made important contributions during their time on board. Their leadership and collaboration have helped strengthen the organization's role as a trusted voice in the food sector.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michi to the Board and to continue working with Adele and Darlene,” said Mike Dungate, Chair of the Board. “We also extend our sincere thanks to Michael and Jean-Marc for their commitment to CCFI’s mission, and their meaningful contributions and leadership over the years.”

Overall, these updates highlight CCFI’s commitment to strong leadership and continued progress. The organization looks forward to the positive impact of its board members as it works to build trust and transparency across Canada’s food system.
